Botox after Invasive Cosmetic Procedures
Many people feel that a full face, forehead, or eyelid lift will be the solution to all of their wrinkly ailments. Unfortunately, many soon learn that this is not the case. Even after a full facelift or other invasive cosmetic surgery procedure, wrinkles may still be present.
This is where Botox comes in. While many use the drug to smooth out their wrinkles as an alternative to invasive surgical procedures, new treatments allow Botox to be used in conjunction with invasive procedures. Botox is good for eliminating wrinkles in the neck and the top third of the face. It is good for smoothing out frown lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet.
Recently, Botox has been used underneath the eye, along the nasal fold, underneath the lower lip, and in vertical creases above the lip where lipstick may run. The new uses tackle areas that have not been fixable through the use of surgery.
Botox is also effective after forehead lifts, full facelifts, and eyelid lifts. Frequently after these invasive cosmetic procedures, there are still wrinkles left in the skin. These residual lines are eradicated by the Botox injections following cosmetic surgery.
While Botox is not a permanent fix, it is frequently a less expensive alternative to permanent surgery. Another benefit is that there is not a chance of the surgeon or person performing the procedure removing too much excess skin and leaving a person’s face permanently altered. Botox, as it is temporary, can be undone by time.
