- The wart is thoroughly frozen through the application of liquid nitrogen to the surface of the affected area.
- The body reacts to the damage by generating a blister between the frozen wart and the epidermal layer.
- New, healthy skin heals below the frozen area.
- The wart and surrounding dead skin eventually fall off on their own.
The size of the wart and the thickness of skin in the affected area will modify how effective the treatment is, but most warts can be eliminated with only a few cryosurgical treatments.
