What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is a facial injection composed of special microspheres suspended in a gel-like substance. The microspheres are made of calcium hydroxyl apatite, or CaHA, which is basically a mixture of phosphate and calcium ions. The gel is carboxymethylcellulose, which contains water, glycerin, carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen.
How Radiesse Works
After you and your doctor discuss the best places for injecting Radiesse, the filler is inserted into your skin with a needle. Your body then begins to make a scaffold out of the CaHA pellets, which acts as a ladder for new collagen growth. Because the microspheres get integrated into the body, Radiesse can keep your skin firm for about two years. These injections are useful for wrinkle problems such as:
